Arivone Gonçalves da Silva, known as “Baleado” and “Cabeludo,” is a Brazilian criminal whose name became associated with the gang led by Valdetário Carneiro, a notorious criminal figure from Rio Grande do Norte. Historical records and contemporary reporting identified Arivone as one of the group’s members during its period of activity across northeastern Brazil. The television program Linha Direta, produced by TV Globo, also identified him as a fugitive associated with the group and documented his connection to investigations involving robberies and violent crimes.
Arivone’s name later appeared in federal and state judicial proceedings. A decision of the Federal Regional Court of the 5th Region records criminal proceedings involving him and other members of the group and states that he was subsequently located and detained. The court record also describes his participation in criminal proceedings connected to events in Macau, Rio Grande do Norte.
In November 2024, Arivone was arrested in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, after police located him and executed a definitive arrest warrant. According to the Rio Grande do Norte Civil Police, he had been sentenced to 27 years in prison for the double homicide of Vicente Veras and his employee, Erismar, in 2003. He was subsequently transferred to the prison system in Pernambuco.
His name has also appeared in investigations and judicial proceedings concerning other events attributed to the former group. Because those proceedings involve different allegations and judicial outcomes, they should not be treated as equivalent to the conviction established in the 2003 double-homicide case.
